Services must be paid in full one week prior to your scheduled appointment. For services booked less than one week prior to your scheduled appointment - please see our late bookings section below.
Deposits: Deposits are paid the same day you book a service. Deposits are non-refundable. Deposits made via our website are due at the time of booking. Deposits made via invoice are due by end of day (5pm CST).
If your booking has been scheduled and your deposit has not been paid - your booking will automatically cancel by the end of day (5pm CST). Notifications of reminder will be sent prior to your cancellation. A notification of cancellation will be sent to your e-mail.
If your deposit has been paid but your service has not been paid in full per the due date for your scheduled invoice payment - your booking will automatically cancel and you will have to rebook your appointment via website.
Paid In Full: Services paid in full via our website or invoice will receive a full refund within 24 hours of your purchase. After 24 hours - refunds will not be available.
Credits: Credits are available only in the case of weather reschedules or at photographer's discretion. Credits are non-refundable and expire within 6 months. Credits will not be given for any personal cancellations (This does not include Engagement and Wedding Photography). In the event that you cancel your service - you will have to repurchase that service unless specified through e-mail by your photographer.
Same-Day Bookings: No refunds will be given for same day bookings.
Example: If you book a service and schedule your service for same day - you will not receive a refund. Same day bookings are scheduled based on availability and refunds will not be provided.
Late Bookings: If you book a service less than one week prior to your scheduled appointment - your service must be paid in full 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment.
Modified Services: Modified services are making any changes to your service. When modifying a service - an invoice will be sent to your e-mail as well as an updated confirmation e-mail that will read "Custom Service - Please see invoice." The invoice received must be paid the day of booking. If your invoice has not been paid by end of day (5 pm CT) your appointment will be canceled. Please visit our "Modified Services" tab for more information on rebooking or how to cancel your modification.
Examples of Modified Services:
1.) Changing the duration of the appointment. If you would like to add any additional time.
2.) Adding additional individuals to your scheduled appointment. Every service has a limited number of individuals. Please read your service details or reach out to us to for more information.
3.) Changing your location. Most of our services are based in Chicago. If you would like to schedule your session for any location outside of Chicago - our 70.00 travel fee will be added to your session. If you are modifying a location within Chicago - please let us know two hours prior to your scheduled session. After two hours - our 25.00 fee will be added. Please see our "Modification of Services" section for more information.
Cancellations: If you wish to cancel your appointment - please inform us 48 hours prior to your scheduled service so we may adjust our schedule. Any services 20-minutes or under - cancelled by the customer must be repurchased. This does not include Engagement or Wedding Photography. Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment will incur a 75.00 cancellation fee. Fees will be applied to your account during rescheduling.
Please note: We will not issue refunds due to inclement weather - locations that are inaccessible - late arrivals - unpaid invoices. We do not accept payments for remaining balances on location unless specified through email. All payments must be paid prior to your session. Due to limited slots and high demand - mini sessions 20 minutes and under cannot be rescheduled or refunded. Please visit our "Rescheduling" section in FAQ for further information.
Absolutely! We understand that sometimes life happens! If you need to reschedule your session - please notify us at least 48 hours before your scheduled time. Sessions can be rescheduled once with at least 48 hours notice at no additional cost.
Sessions rescheduled with proper notice can be moved to a new date within 30 days - based on availability.
Last minute reschedules (less than 48 hours) or no shows will result in the forfeiture of your session fee. A rescheduling fee of 75.00 will be implemented for any last minute reschedules.
If the photographer must reschedule due to weather - illness - or unforeseen circumstances - all payments and retainers will be fully transferred to a new date.
Mini Session or Pop-up Events:
Due to limited time slots and high demand - mini sessions 20 minutes or under cannot be rescheduled or refunded. In the event of rain or severe weather - sessions will be moved to the backup date or credited toward another mini event. Mini Sessions are any services 20-minutes or under. This does not include our Wedding Photography nor our Engagement Photography (exceeding 30-minutes or longer).
If you cannot attend - you may transfer your session to a friend or family member with prior notice.
Late Arrivals: If you arrive late - we shoot less - which means less images you will have for your session. If you are 10-minutes late for your appointment we consider that a cancellation and you forfeit your time slot. You will then have to rebook your appointment. Does not apply to Wedding Photography - please contact your photographer if you are running late.
We take the time to create a schedule and while life happens - we take out the time to make sure we are on time so that we can provide you with quality service as well as respecting other clients. Please respect our time as well.
Modified Services are making any changes to your service. Modifications of any services must be requested 48 hours prior to your scheduled session. When modifying a service - an invoice will be sent to your e-mail address as well as an updated confirmation e-mail. The invoice received must be paid the day of booking. If your invoice has not been paid by end of day (5pm CT) your requested modifications will be cancelled and your original appointment will stand.
In the event that your invoice has been cancelled - a notification of your cancellation will be sent via e-mail. If you wish to cancel the modifications of your appointment - you must notify us 24 hours prior to your scheduled booking. No cancellations to your modifications will be given after 24 hours. If you wish to cancel the modifications of your appointment - you have 24 hours after payment for modified services to receive a refund. After 24 hours - no refunds will be available.
Example: If you purchased our 30-Minute Portrait Session and would like to add an additional 30-Minutes - an invoice will be sent to your e-mail for the requested 30-minutes and must be paid by end of day (5 pm CT).
If your invoice is unpaid - your modification request will be cancelled and your requested 30-minutes will not be added to your session.
Examples of Modified Services:
- Changing Your Time Slot: If you would like to reschedule your session (same day) for a different time slot that we have available - it would be a 40.00 fee.
- Changing the Duration. If you would like to add additional time. 15 additional minutes will be: 25.00 - 30 additional minutes will be: 50.00 - adding an additional hour to your session will be: 75.00. If you make any modifications prior to your session - an invoice will be sent to your e-mail address. If you make any modification with your session during the time of your appointment - it will be 50.00 for any same day modifications. You may pay via cash - Venmo - Zelle. Changing the duration also depends on our availability as well. This does not apply to late arrivals.
- Adding Additional Individuals. Every service has a limited number of individuals. If you would like to add an additional person - it would be 25.00. Please read your service details or reach out to us for more information. View our "What if I want to include individuals in my session" section for more information.
- Changing Your Location. Our services are Chicago based. If you would like to change a location within Chicago after booking your service. Please let us know three days prior to your scheduled appointment. A 30.00 fee will be applied and an invoice will be sent for any location modifications under 72 hours. If you would like to change your location to a location that is not listed under our services - it will be a 25.00 fee.
For example: If you would like a different location than what is listed on your Groupon or any of our online sessions.
If you would like to schedule your appointment for an area outside of Chicago - our 70.00 travel fee will be added to your service. If you are modifying a location within Chicago - that is listed on your Groupon locations or our online sessions - please let us know at least two hours prior to your scheduled appointment. After two hours - our 25.00 fee will be added to your scheduled appointment. Paid via Venmo or Zelle at the time of your appointment.
- Clothing Changes. Some of our services do not allow outfit changes due to the duration of the service. We recommend adding 30-minutes of additional time to your session for any clothing changes. Adding 30-minutes would be an additional 50.00. If you insist on changing your clothing during your session without adding additional time - it will be your responsibility to manage the time of your session. We will not give additional time for clothing changes.
- Switching an Outdoor Service to Indoor. Please see our "Can I Switch my Outdoor Session to an Indoor Session" section for more information.
- Implementing Different Services. Purchasing our 30-Minute Mini Session to capture an Engagement or Surprise Proposal. We will inform you that there will be a price difference and an invoice would be sent to your email address - if you proceed with your booking.
Some locations require photography permits. It is the customers responsibility to obtain any photography permits or any permits needed to capture images at the chosen location. We do not pay for any permits.
Example: If you booked a session for the Chicago Botanical Gardens and you have not obtained a photography permit prior to your scheduled session - your session will be rescheduled.
We list recommended locations in each of our services to avoid any confusion or mishaps when choosing a location.
If you have tested positive or suspect that you have COVID-19 - we will cancel and reschedule your session two weeks from the date of your scheduled session.
For example: If your session date was Thursday, March 25, 2021 - your reschedule date will be: Thursday, April 8, 2021.
We understand that the CDC may have lifted some guidelines however - we work with a lot of clients and many of those clients are children. We try our best to stay safe and take a lot of precautions for the safety and well-being of our clients.
We are Chicago based but we capture images anywhere in Illinois using the sessions available on our website.
Our travel fee is 70.00 for any locations surrounding the Chicago area.
Our travel fee is 100.00 for any locations outside of those surrounding locations.
Example: If you would like to schedule your session for Skokie, IL - it will be an additional 70.00. However - if you would like to schedule your session for Peoria, IL - it will be an additional 100.00.
If you choose to schedule a service outside of Chicago, IL - our travel fee will be applied to your session and an invoice will automatically be sent to your e-mail for the amount stated above. This invoice must be paid the day of your booking. You may also pay via Zelle.
If you would like to modify a location within Chicago - please notify us three days prior to your scheduled session. After 72 hours - a 30.00 fee to change the location will be implemented.

Absolutely! If for any reason - you would like to switch an outdoor session to an indoor session - let us know at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled session so that we can bring the equipment needed to capture your images.
This is a great idea if you would like to take family portraits at home during a rainy or cold day in Chicago.
If you would like to switch your outdoor photography session to an indoor photography session - it will be an additional 80.00. Paid via invoice.
If you are outside of Chicago, IL and would like to switch your session to an indoor session - you would pay our travel fee as well as our 70.00 fee to change your photography session.

Of course! We highly recommend this option - as we take many different poses and have enough images for you to choose from. Sometimes it gets overwhelming for clients to choose a specific amount of photos.
If you would like to convert your package to "Unlimited High Resolution Images" prior to your session - it would be an additional 60.00. Paid via Invoice or at your session using: Cash or Zelle: (773) 939-0072. This option can only be offered prior to receiving your gallery.
After your gallery is sent - this option will no longer be made available.

You can download individual images for 10.00 per photo. This can be done at anytime within the 30-Day Period.
Each customer will have their Groupon redeemed once you book the date and time you prefer. Please enter the six to nine digit code during the time of your booking - to avoid any delays.
Sessions must be booked in advance.
Vouchers are valid only for the package listed on your Groupon and cannot be combined with other offers - promotions - or credits.
A minimum of 48 hours notice is required to reschedule. Reschedules made with prior notice may be moved once to a new date (based on availability).
No shows or cancellations less than 48 hours will result in forfeiture of the voucher.
Expired vouchers retain their paid value and can be used when booking.
Upgrades - you're welcome to upgrade your session or purchase additional images at the time of your booking - during your session or after your session.
Yes - we have an increase for any sessions after the last light diminishes.
Mini Session Packages will have an increase of 50.00
Event and Wedding Packages will have an increase of 100.00
The increase will be an additional amount - it is not per hour.
For example: If you book a 30-Minute Mini Session for 8 pm - it would be an additional 50.00. Paid via invoice.
We have an increase for pricing due to any equipment needed to adjust for lighting or any exposures. This is for our indoor and outdoor sessions.
Our sessions are naturally lit - so any lighting equipment that is needed on your session will be an additional charge.
Each photography session has a limit. If you would like to include an additional person - it would be 10.00 per person.
For example: Our Mini Sessions are: 1 to 5 people. If you wanted to add two additional people to your session - then an invoice would be sent for an additional 20.00.
If you would like to add additional individuals to your session - you will be sent an invoice via e-mail for the amount owed. Invoices are paid the day you book.
For our 15-minute and 20-minute photography sessions - your photographer will wait 5 minutes for you to arrive in person for the chosen location. This 5-minute period will be deducted from the overall time of your session. If you do not show up within 5 minutes - your session will be cancelled and a rescheduling fee will be applied.
Example: If your 15-minute session starts at 12:00 pm and you arrive at 12:05 pm - you will have 10 minutes remaining in your session. If you arrive after 12:05 pm - your session will be cancelled and a rescheduling fee will be applied to your session. No exceptions.
For photography sessions that are 30-minutes or over - your photographer will wait 10 minutes for you to arrive in person for the chosen location. This 10-minute period will be deducted from the overall time of your session. If you do not arrive within 10 minutes - your session will be cancelled and a rescheduling fee will be applied.
Example: If your 30-minute session starts at 12:00 pm and you arrive at 12:10 pm - you will have 20 minutes remaining in your session. If you arrive after 12:10 pm - your session will be cancelled and a rescheduling fee will be applied to your session.
Please note: If you are a "No Show" for your session - it will be cancelled and no refund or credit will be made available.
Our grace period does not include wedding photography. Please speak to your photographer if you will arrive later than expected for your wedding day.
Your outdoor session is always subject to weather conditions. You will be rescheduled at our discretion when weather conditions will hinder our service to you. If you would like to switch your "Outdoor Session" to an "In-Home Session" it will be an additional 60.00.
For example: If you purchased an "Outdoor Photography Session" and would like to switch your session to an "In-Home Session" - due to the weather or travel - you may do so.
Types of weather to avoid when capturing outdoor images:
Active Rain - Heavy Snow - Hail - Temperatures Below 30 Degrees - Freezing Temperatures - Heat Advisories - High Winds - Severe Weather Warnings.
We do not capture photos during: Active Rain - Heavy Snow - Dangerous Temperatures - Severe Weather Advisories.
Indoor sessions are subject to weather conditions if it prevents travel to and from your location.
You can be rescheduled for reasons such as:
Severe Weather Warnings/Watch - Winter Weather Advisories - Active Rain - Heavy Snow - Temperatures Below 30 Degrees - Tornado Warnings/Watch. This includes: Driving Conditions - Dangerous Temperatures - Hail Storms - Heavy Fog.
We may reschedule your indoor session if we feel it hinders our travel to and from your location.
Please check your e-mail and phone number when booking - as any updates about your session will be sent to you. We have the right to reschedule any service at any time per our discretion - but we aim to give notice at least two hours before your session is scheduled to make any adjustments.
If your session is cancelled due to: Active Rain - Heavy Snow - Dangerous Temperatures - you will be able to reschedule for a date and time that works best for you. Refunds will not be given for sessions due to inclement weather - as we have no control over weather. Please see our "Refund Policy" section for more information.
If the location of your session becomes inaccessible for any reason on the date of your session - you will be re-scheduled for a different date and time.
Examples of Inaccessible Locations:
- Location is gated off for a private event
- Location is suddenly closed to the public
- Location has public restrictions by any local authority or owners
- Parking Restrictions or Parking Difficulties
We may by our discretion deem any location inaccessible at any time in which you will also be re-scheduled.
We will create your own password protected private photo gallery on Pic-Time.com. This will allow you to download your photos directly to your phone - tablet - computer. You can also upload your photos directly to social media; Facebook - Instagram - Pinterest.
Galleries will be sent based on the turnaround time for your session. The turnaround time is listed on each session on our website as well as Groupon. We will also remind you of your turnaround time at the end of your session.
Each gallery has an expiration date - please refer to your photography package for further details.
Please note: We will not send any galleries if there is a pending balance. Invoices must be paid prior to receiving any images.
Your gallery will be available for 30 days. During this time - you may download your images - buy extra downloads as well as any other products that you may want through your gallery.
You will receive an e-mail reminding you that you will have a certain amount of days before your gallery is set to expire. Once your gallery expires - your gallery will switch to "offline" and you will not have access. There will be a 50.00 fee to reopen your gallery and resend your file. Your gallery will then be available for additional 30 days.
To avoid this fee - please be sure to download and purchase your items within your suggested timeframe.

Currently have our studio in the Bronzeville neighborhood. Some in person sessions require a studio and in those cases, we will use our home based studio.
For any headshot photography that requires a studio setting - we offer our home based studio (Bronzeville Chicago) or you may purchase our Travel Headshot Session - which includes our studio lighting and white backdrop. Please refer to our Headshot Photography section for more information.
Absolutely! We do not mind if you use images for commercial or promotional purposes. Our usage fee is 800.00 per image. That is through a separate transaction - paid via invoice as well as paperwork and consent that allows the customer or company "usage rights."
For example: If you would like to use images for any type of publication - such as but not limited to;
- Magazine
- Web
- Promotional Video
- Billboard Advertisement
- Newspaper
- Articles
- Academic Journals
- Journaling
A usage fee would be applied. If you submit our images to any publication company - that company must reach out to us for any usage of our images. We do not allow companies to use our images without proper consent as well as proper payment.
If you are using our images without consent and payment - we will then have the right to take legal action.
This does apply to businesses.
For example: If you are an apparel company - you will have the right to use our images for any advertisement or publications with proper payment and consent.
If you would like to use our images for any wedding promotion - this fee will apply and the image(s) must be credited to Pamela L. King Photography.

Pamela L. King Photography (and owners), hold ownership of all copyrights for any photos taken by us unless you have purchased the copyrights from us in a separate transaction from your Groupon or photography package purchased on our website.
Because Pamela L. King owns the copyrights to all photos taken with our cameras, You (the customer) will receive a "Print and Digital release" document in your photo gallery. This document gives one person permission to do the following: Use photos for personal use such as displaying them in home, or if a business on your professional channels such as social media, etc. The release also allows you the right to print the photos for personal use such as giving photos to friends or family or for professional use if you are a business.
Each client has the right to purchase the copyrights to their photos. Purchasing the copyrights to your photos is welcomed. It will be $150.00 per .raw image when available - to purchase the .raw files. You will also be provided with the .raw images that are unedited unless otherwise requested.
We do not give away .raw unedited files, you must purchase the copyright as well.
If you do not choose to purchase the copyrights to your images - Pamela L. King photography and all owners will grant customers "Print and Digital" rights to their photos.
In this case Pamela L. King and all owners - will own the copyrights to your photos. In this case it means that with your permission - we may use your photos in the following ways:
Advertisement for our Website - Facebook - Groupon - Instagram - Mailing List.
It is not our responsibility to check if photography or videography is permitted for locations that are not listed under our recommendations.
If a location prohibits the use of photography or videography - you will have the option of changing your location for your service that day (if time permits). A 50.00 modification fee will be implemented for same day changes. Or you may reschedule your appointment for a different date and time as well as location. In this case a rescheduling fee (75.00) will be implemented and you will receive a new confirmation for your booking.
Please note: Circuit Court Buildings can deny the use of photography or videography during your ceremony. Circuit Court Buildings can also deny entry if camera equipment is brought inside of the Court Building. Please refer to rules and regulations or FAQ section of the Circuit Court Building prior to booking your appointment.
If we are denied entry during the time of your appointment - we will take images outside of the Circuit Court Building (if permitted). If photography is prohibited on any grounds of the Circuit Court Building - your appointment will be modified or rescheduled.
